The 100 Days to Healthier Project Day 18
I know I leaped and skipped days. I have been working out. Jogging even. I feel stronger physically. Emotionally ....I just went through a challenging time. Part of the ceiling of my bed room caved in. I gathered buckets of water in pans and buckets...it was a night mare. I met the challenge I kept my cool. I did what needed to b done. today i broke down twice..sobbing like a little one.
I am surrounded by love and all is well.
I want to trust myself. Trust my choices.

100 Days to Healthier Project
Last February 2014, I started the 100 Days to Happier Project. I spent 100 Days focused on doing things that brought me a deeper feeling of joy, contentment….dare I say…. happiness.
With intention, I got up for the sunrise; I drew or wrote in my journal most days. I exercised with more of a regular routine. I also connected with my friends, built a sense of community within myself and in Rogers Park. I got quieter with meditation and daily prayer. I noticed by day 50 I did feel happier and by Day 80 I was saying, “Life is good.” Launching the 100 Days to Happier Project wasin response to anticipating the anniversary of my mother’s death February 18th,2011 from ALS.
This year in honor of my mother’s love of fitness and well being, I am launching the 100 Days to Healthier Project.
Starting tomorrow February 3rd.
I used to be fit. I used to be strong I used to be an athlete. I am tired of feeling tired, saying “used to be”.
I want to be able to say I am fit. I am strong. I am an athlete.
So for the next 100 days consciously and with intention, I will take good care of myself by:
Exercise daily- at least 30 minutes of vigorous movement
Drink Water(Hydrate) 8 cups a day
Eat whole foods( more organic fruits andveggie)
Meditate/Praydaily.
I will document my progress with photos and a video Log.
I want to feel better and have more energy. This isn’t about getting skinny…it is about getting healthier. I can do this!!!

Reaching Out for Help
Hello Friends,
A lot has happened since my last post, practically a whole summer. I hope everyone is well out there and walking on your paths.
There has been lots of violence, I know this isn't new, There has been violence at the hands of people who are given the job to keep us safer. Cops what the hell? I've been to protests where there are more cops then protesters looking like the military with their semi-automatic machine guns at the ready.
The shooting of young black men by cops make none of us feel safer. It speaks to a depression, a desperation and rage that a lot of us feel about the inequality in the country. The people that have a roof over their heads and food in the fridge are being quiet and may feel afraid to rock the boat. The recovery has not visited everybody….many people are still struggling. People of color……every color…..
We have some of the riches people in the world and yet many of our people are afraid and hungry…..
I want my last words to be I love you and I did something…..
I work with people as a psychotherapist who are: afraid, angry and grieving. It is better to reach out for help and know that you aren't alone.
I can be reached in Rogers Park at Chicago Human Potential 7231 1/2 N. Sheridan Rd.
