Happy Holidays 2011!

11/29/11

Dear Friends,
Happy Holidays from Eve Brownstone.

At this time of year, I like to reflect on this past year. 2011? It was full and challenging for a lot of us. The economy continued to tank for those living in the normal world. Pepper spray became a fashion accessory.

My trip to Zucotti Park in NYC and Occupy Wall Street inspired me to get involved in Occupy Chicago. It can’t be business as usual. Remember: “The People united will never be defeated!”

I continue to enjoy working with my clients and am expanding my practice. I want to include returning veterans and open a part-time office in Rogers Park.

I joined the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce and will become active on the Southport task force in January. My office address is 3723 N. Southport in Lakeview.

At my office I am offering from now until January 4, 2012 half an hour Stress-Busting sessions. It is a $60 value for $30. These sessions combine bioenergetics, mindfulness exercises and role-playing.

In November, I went back to the University of Illinois at Chicago after 22 years for a wine and cheese event at the Honors College. It was cool to be back and would like to have the opportunity to teach.
I want to teach a class on Expressive Arts Therapies, to that end I am working on a syllabus and curriculum for a twelve-week course.

In honor of my mother Judy Erickson who passed on February 18th 2011 from ALS, I am starting to go into schools to present
“ When Everything Changes”. It is a 45-minute interactive multimedia presentation. It tells the story of how ALS can rob you of your body but not your spirit. I also want to present this at conferences and for other groups.

Mom taught me so much about life and love and hope. She lived her life until she couldn’t anymore and then she left on her terms.

Lots of Love and Light to you all. Eve
